Dezoito participation agreement

This document sets out the terms and conditions governing reservations and participation in trips with Dezoito. Please note that these terms may be subject to change without prior notice.

This agreement is between Dezoito (Dezoito or the “Host”) and You (the “Participant” or “the Guest”).

Health assessment

As a precondition for acceptance in any travel, all prospective Guests are required to pass our medical and psychological evaluation. Dezoito reserves the right, in its sole and unfettered discretion, to decline a reservation request if an individual does not meet our screening criteria.

The Participant agrees to take part in ayahuasca and medicinal plant ceremonies with the Host out of his/her own free will and is not coerced by anyone. He/she has been advised that ayahuasca is a visionary plant medicine and is clear on the meaning of this.

The Host will do their utmost to ensure the safety and comfort of the Participant during the travel. The Participant, in turn, agrees to abide by all rules and regulations as outlined in these terms and conditions, the activity and release waiver, and/or guidelines communicated orally during the travel.

Dezoito owners, employees and suppliers are not health care specialists and do not practice health care of any form. Travels are offered for the sole purpose of spiritual connection and personal growth.

The Participant agrees to truthfully answer all questions in the medical questionnaire that is part of the registration process. He/she agrees to full disclosure with the Host, in writing, regarding their health history, medical conditions, and any medications they are taking, prior to booking. All information will be deemed confidential by the Host.

In the event that the Participant is taking medications, it must be disclosed in the intake form and call. If during intake it is found that there may be a contraindication with a prescribed medication, it will be the participants responsibility to consult with the prescribing physician regarding possible interactions with the natural medicines made available in the Huni Kuin community. The Host is not responsible for the personal decision of any Guest to stop taking medications or change their medication schedule, and accepts no liability for any adverse effects from withdrawal from any medication.

The Participant confirms that they have not been diagnosed with the following mental conditions: bi-polar, or any form of multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, schizophreniform, or schizoaffective disorders.

The Participant confirms that they are not taking any SSRI’s, SNRI’s or CNS medication upon attendance of the travel with Dezoito. If the Participant is taking any of the above medications they will disclose this to our medical intake team upon intake process.

The Participant understands that it is important to prepare physically and mentally for the travel. This includes adhering to a rigorous diet prior to arrival, abstaining from street drugs, and pharmacological restrictions required by Dezoito for at least two weeks to one month prior to the start of the travel and for at least four weeks following the last ceremony.

Medication contraindications

If a Guest is deemed medically unsafe due to recent prescription medications that are contraindicated with ayahuasca, we reserve the right to withhold participation in any ceremonies.

After booking an initial intake, the Participant agrees to notify the Host of any material change in their medical condition in a timely manner and understands that withholding medical information could be dangerous to their health.

Booking confirmation and payment

The Participant is expected to submit the medical intake form and potentially schedule an intake call.

Upon acceptance into a travel at Dezoito the Participant is required to make payment in full for the total cost of the travel, payable electronically.

The full payment can be made by the following methods. Note, some methods do have a small percentage fee that is paid by the Participant:

– Credit Card Payment Deposit (fee is 4% paid by Participant) – Bank Wire Transfer (fee depends on the bank and is responsibility of Participant)

Please contact us if you have any questions in regards to deposit methods on Signal.

Depending on the situation, there may be other methods of payment.

Cancellation and rescheduling

If you cancel your registration more than 8 weeks prior to the starting date of the travel, you will be able to transfer the payment for a future travel date. This rescheduling can be done only once and within the time frame of 2 years.

If you cancel your registration within the 8 weeks of the starting date of your travel, you can transfer your balance towards a future travel date. Refunds are not available at this stage.

Please note that no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of the travel’s start date will incur the full travel cost.

Right of cancellation

Dezoito reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, postpone, or modify any scheduled travel at any time prior to its commencement. While Dezoito will endeavour to provide participants with reasonable advance notice of any such cancellation, Dezoito shall not be held liable for any costs, damages, or losses incurred by participants as a result of such cancellation, including but not limited to travel arrangements, visa fees, or any other related expenses.

In the event of cancellation by Dezoito, participants will be entitled to a full refund of any fees already paid, which shall constitute the sole and exclusive remedy available to participants.

Policy for early departures

In the event of a Guest’s premature departure from the trip before the end of their reserved stay, no refunds, whether full or partial, will be granted. All costs associated with transportation back to the city shall be borne by the departing Guest.

Travel and medical insurance requirement

It is obligatory for every Participant to purchase flight and travel insurance to cover all contingencies and expenses, including potential medical costs incurred during the travel dates. Domestic health insurance will not suffice for this purpose. We can not advise insurance plans; if in doubt, please contact your insurance provider for clarity.
